Just few days ago, on July 3, 2026, the large singlegirder gantry crane project undertaken by Weihua for a 2,400ton load capacity was successfully completed, with the heavyload test passing without issue.

This milestone confirms that the equipment has officially met all standards for operational use.

As a critical lifting solution for large-scale marine engineering machinery manufacturing, this project will improve the assembly, transportation, and commissioning capabilities of marine engineering modules. It will also provide more efficient and reliable support for the construction of large marine engineering equipment.

Main Introduction

This single-girder gantry crane was specially designed to meet the manufacturing requirements of large-scale marine engineering equipment. It has the capability of performing extremely heavy lifting and conducting coordinated operations among multiple trolleys. This 2400-ton single-girder gantry crane is equipped with two 2×600-ton main lifting trolleys and one 700/50-ton auxiliary lifting trolley. The combination of these components enables cross-operation, meeting the flexible operation needs in various situations and significantly enhancing the operational efficiency

Our Track Record in Super-Large-Tonnage Gantry Cranes

Our company specializes in the research and development of super-large lifting equipment and provides reliable solutions for complex lifting projects. The team focuses on continuous innovation and follows strict quality standards throughout the design and manufacturing process. In recent years, we have successfully delivered several large-scale projects, including 3,600-ton, 3,000-ton, and 2,500-ton load capacity gantry cranes, as well as a 225.6-meter long-span gantry crane. These achievements have strengthened our clients’ capabilities in large equipment manufacturing and engineering development.

In the future, Weihua will continue developing large-scale lifting equipment. The company will improve its capabilities in crane design, manufacturing, and project delivery. Weihua will also provide reliable material handling solutions, including semi-gantry cranes and port cranes, for marine engineering, shipbuilding, and heavy equipment industries.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where are heavy gantry cranes usually used?

In shipyards, offshore construction sites, steel mills, and heavy equipment workshops.

2. What are the differences between large gantry cranes and ordinary cranes?

Large gantry cranes have a more robust structure and stronger loadcarrying capacity, making them suitable for handling larger and heavier items.

3. Why are heavy cranes crucial for offshore projects?

Because offshore modules are usually large in size and difficult to move. Using heavy lifting equipment can make installation and transportation safer and more efficient.

4. Can a 2400ton gantry crane operate with other cranes?

Yes. In this project, for example, the 2400ton gantry crane worked together with a 1200ton crane. It also supports coordinated operation with other tonnage cranes.

5. What factors should be considered when choosing a gantry crane?

When purchasing a gantry crane, it is necessary to provide the load capacity, working area, lifting height, operation frequency, and site conditions, as all of these affect the selection of the crane.

6. How can manufacturers customize gantry cranes for specific projects?

Yes, we support customized design solutions. Our engineers adjust the crane design to match each customer’s lifting needs and working conditions.
