Project Information
- Project Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan
- Industry: Heavy Machinery Manufacturing
- Equipment Supplied: Weihua KBK-II 1 Ton Flexible Crane System
- Application: Multi-Station Assembly Line Material Handling
A heavy machinery manufacturer in Almaty recently upgraded its workshop handling system with a KBK flexible crane solution from Weihua Group.
The customer needed a practical lifting system for frequent material movement across multiple assembly stations. At the same time, the production line required stable performance during continuous daily operation.
In addition, the workshop faced another challenge. Winter temperatures in Almaty often drop to around -25°C, so the equipment needed to work reliably in cold conditions.
After reviewing the workshop layout and production flow, Weihua engineers proposed a KBK-II flexible rail crane system designed for both multi-station handling and low-temperature operation.
Flexible Design for Multi-Station Production Flow
The assembly workshop covers a long working area with several production stations. Workers need to move components between different stations throughout the day.
To improve material flow, Weihua configured the system with a 12-meter main track and a 4-meter secondary track. This layout helps operators move materials across the full production area with less interruption.
In addition, the flexible rail structure supports 90-degree turning. It also allows future branch expansion if the production line grows. As a result, the customer can adjust the system later without major reconstruction.
The system uses galvanized steel rails, an electric chain hoist, and both wired and wireless control options. Therefore, operators can choose different control methods based on their working habits.

Stable Operation in Low-Temperature Environment
Cold weather conditions played an important role in this project.
During winter, workshop temperatures in Almaty can fall to -25°C. Because of this, standard crane components may face performance issues such as slow startup or unstable lubrication.
To solve this problem, Weihua selected low-temperature resistant motors and special lubricants designed for cold environments. In addition, the electrical system uses IP54 protection, and the full crane system follows C4 anti-corrosion standards.
The operating range of the system covers -30°C to +50°C. Therefore, the crane can maintain stable performance across seasonal temperature changes.
During commissioning, the system started smoothly and ran without interruption under low-temperature testing conditions.
Fast Installation Without Welding Work
The customer also requested a short installation period to avoid interrupting production.
To meet this requirement, Weihua used a modular bolt-connected structure. This design removed the need for on-site welding and reduced installation complexity.
As a result, the installation team completed assembly and commissioning within two days. The workshop returned to normal production shortly after installation.
In addition, the modular structure simplifies future maintenance work. It also allows easier system expansion compared with traditional welded rail systems.
Improved Efficiency Across the Assembly Line
After installation, the production team quickly noticed improvements in daily workflow.
Material transfer between stations became smoother and more consistent. At the same time, workers spent less time handling components manually between different zones.
The linked control function also improved coordination during larger assembly tasks. Multiple lifting units can now work together when needed, which helps reduce delays during heavy component handling.
According to the customer’s feedback, overall assembly efficiency increased by about three times after the system entered operation. In addition, the system has maintained stable performance with a very low failure rate during daily use.
Flexible Crane Solutions for Modern Manufacturing
Today, many manufacturing plants face similar challenges. They need efficient material handling, flexible layout options, and stable performance in different working environments.
Because of this, KBK modular crane systems are widely used in assembly lines, equipment manufacturing, and precision production workshops.
Compared with traditional fixed cranes, modular systems offer better flexibility and easier expansion. Therefore, they are becoming a practical choice for modern production facilities.
Weihua continues to provide customized KBK crane systems for industrial workshops around the world. The company focuses on real production needs and designs solutions based on actual operating conditions rather than standard fixed configurations.
