Project Information
- Project Location: Penang, Malaysia
- Industry: Precision Machinery Manufacturing
- Equipment Supplied: Weihua BX Type 3-Ton Wall-Mounted Jib Crane
- Application: CNC Machine Loading and Material Handling
A precision machining factory in Penang recently upgraded its production workshop with a customized wall-mounted jib crane solution from Weihua Group.
The customer operates multiple CNC lathes arranged along one side of the workshop columns. Because the machining area handles frequent loading and unloading tasks every day, the factory needed a compact lifting solution that could improve workflow efficiency without occupying valuable floor space.
At the same time, the workshop had limited headroom and narrow operating aisles. Therefore, the customer required a crane system with flexible rotation, low-clearance design, and stable performance in Southeast Asia’s high-temperature and high-humidity environment.
After evaluating the workshop layout and production requirements, Weihua engineers recommended a BX-type wall-mounted jib crane specifically designed for precision machining applications.
Space-Saving Design for CNC Workshop Operation
One of the biggest challenges in this project was the limited operating space.
Traditional floor-mounted lifting systems would reduce aisle space and interfere with machine operation. To solve this problem, Weihua adopted a wall-mounted installation structure that keeps the entire working area clear.
The crane features a 5-meter jib arm with 180-degree rotation coverage. As a result, operators can complete loading and unloading tasks across multiple CNC machines using a single lifting system.
Because the crane mounts directly onto the workshop columns, it does not occupy floor space. In addition, the system can operate efficiently in aisles as narrow as two meters.

Low-Headroom Structure Improves Working Efficiency
The customer also required maximum lifting height inside a workshop with limited vertical clearance.
To meet this requirement, Weihua equipped the crane with a low-headroom structure combined with an NL electric chain hoist.
Compared with traditional lifting systems, this design increases the available lifting height by approximately 0.5 meters. Therefore, operators gain more usable working space when handling machining components around CNC equipment.
The crane also uses a wired pendant control system, which provides stable and straightforward operation for daily workshop use.
Built for Tropical Workshop Conditions
Malaysia’s tropical climate creates additional challenges for industrial lifting equipment.
Workshop temperatures can reach 40°C, while humidity levels often rise above 90%. In addition, coastal regions in Southeast Asia frequently experience moisture and salt-air exposure.
To ensure reliable long-term performance, Weihua applied tropical anti-corrosion treatment across the crane structure and key components.
The electrical system also uses IP54-rated dustproof and waterproof protection. Because of this configuration, the crane maintains stable performance in humid and high-temperature production environments.
Fast Installation Without Structural Reinforcement
The customer wanted to complete the installation quickly without modifying the workshop structure.
Since the wall-mounted jib crane has a relatively light self-weight of less than 800 kg, the installation team completed the setup without additional column reinforcement.
As a result, each crane unit was installed within one day, which helped minimize disruption to workshop production schedules.
Higher Efficiency for Daily Machine Loading
After the crane entered operation, the factory quickly improved workflow efficiency in the machining area.
Operators can now transfer materials more directly between storage positions and CNC machines. At the same time, the compact crane structure improves accessibility around the equipment.
According to feedback from the customer, loading and unloading efficiency increased by approximately two times after the system was put into operation.
Flexible Jib Crane Solutions for Precision Manufacturing
Modern machining workshops often require lifting systems that combine flexibility, compact design, and reliable operation in limited spaces.
Compared with larger overhead crane systems, wall-mounted jib cranes provide a practical solution for localized machine loading and workstation material handling.
Weihua continues to provide customized jib crane systems and precision lifting solutions for machining plants, CNC workshops, manufacturing facilities, and industrial production lines worldwide.
